Hero WPGT – Amateur Lavanya wins pro title

Recently crowned All India Ladies Amateur champion Lavanya Gupta of Delhi beat the pro golfers with rounds of 71-72-74 to win the fifth leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (Hero WPGT) at the DLF Golf and Country Club with a five-shot victory as difficult scoring conditions tested the field in the Rs 18 lakh event.

Durga Nittur (75-70-77) and Jasmine Shekar (70-74-78) shared second place at 6 over 222 after both struggled on the final day. Amandeep Drall finished fourth at 224, while Sneha Singh placed fifth at 227.

Lavanya is headed to play college golf at the University of Kansas later this year and will return to play the US$500,000 Hero Women’s Indian Open on the Ladies European Tour in October. 

Mahreen Bhatia, the previous amateur winner on the tour, finished sixth at 12-over 228. Neha Tripathi was seventh and Mannat Brar eighth, while four players shared ninth place.

After 5 legs of the 14 leg tour , Ridhima Dilawari leads the 2026 Rankings with earnings of Rs 7,61,667, followed by Jasmine Shekar and Sneha Singh. The sixth leg will be played at Jaypee Wishtown Golf Course from March 17-20.
