IGPL – Bhullar steamrolls the field – again !

Gaganjeet Bhullar has now won the 3 events he has played on the IGPL

Gaganjeet Bhullar won the IGPL Ahmedabad event at Glade One Resort with rounds of 71-67-67, sealing his third straight IGPL title and keeping his win rate at 100% on the league.

The 37-year-old Arjuna Awardee and record 11-time Asian Tour winner—also the only Indian currently assured of full Asian Tour playing rights in 2026—sparked his week early with a milestone moment: the opening round featured his first hole-in-one as a professional in India, on the par-3 third at Glade One.

Raghav Chugh, a recent Rice University graduate, finished runner-up at 10-under after rounds of 70-68-68.

Bhullar’s win came after he inexplicably chose to skip the US$500,000 Bharat Classic, the Asian Tour co-sanctioned event played a week earlier—an especially crucial stop for Indian players trying to gain Asian Tour points. The Bharat Classic had 58 Indian players in the field and served as a rare home-week chance to improve positions ahead of the next chance: the Asian Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, scheduled for December 17–21 in Thailand.

One player still in a fight on the Asian Tour is Ajeetesh Sandhu, who returned to the Tour via the Asian Tour Qualifying-School earlier this year but was at 72nd on the money list and needed a strong finish at the Bharat Classic to climb inside the top 65 on the Asian Tour. A T-17th finish there didn’t do enough, and he plays this week at the season-ending US$1 million Saudi Open needing a good result to keep his full playing rights for 2026 and avoid another trip to the Qualifying Tournament.

From the IGPL, the top 4 in the IGPL season rankings, Aman Raj, Sachin Baisoya, Kartik Singh and Pukhraj  Gill have secured valuable places in the Asian Tour Qualifying School Final Stage in Thailand and can skip the brutal preliminary rounds. We hope they earn full playing rights so we can see more Indians playing on the Asian Tour in 2026.
