IGU World Amateur Selection Trials

The apex body for amateur golf in India, the Indian Golf Union (IGU) is holding a five-day trial for World Amateur from May 31-June 4 at Hyderabad Golf Club in Hyderabad. A total of 23 amateurs – 14 boys and 9 girls are in the field where best of four out of five rounds will be considered for selection.

Day 1 tee-time – May 31

WATC Format 

Each team has two or three players and plays 18-holes of stroke play for four days. In each round, the total of the two lowest scores from each team constitutes the team score for the round. The four-day (72-hole) total is the team’s score for the championship.

The French Golf Federation will play host to the 2022 World Amateur Team Championships (WATC). The 29th women’s championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy will be held from 24th to 27th August and the 32nd men’s championship for the Eisenhower Trophy from 31st August to 3rd September 2022.

This will mark the third time the championships have been played in France. Previously, both 1994 championships were held at Le Golf National (as well as La Boulie for the Eisenhower Trophy) and the inaugural Espirito Santo Trophy competition was played at St. Germain Golf Club in 1964.
