From L-R – Ishwar Kapsi , Shiv Agarwal and Vijay Challa Reddy with Sourabh Hole from Mercedes-Benz India
Team India claimed top honours at the MercedesTrophy World Final 2025 in Stuttgart, Germany, finishing first in the World Cup Net category with a total of 163 points, ahead of Chinese Taipei (156) and Sweden (155).
The Indian team comprised Vijay Kumar Reddy (Hyderabad), Ishwar Kapsi (Bangalore) and Shiv Agarwal (Mumbai), who impressed in testing conditions at Der Öschberghof, home to Mercedes-Benz’s flagship amateur golf championship.
Reddy scored 43 and 34 points, while Kapsi carded 38 and 34, and Agarwal 23 and 48 across the two rounds to secure India’s first-ever MercedesTrophy World Final title.
The annual World Final brings together winners from MercedesTrophy national qualifiers held in over 60 countries, featuring around 200 golfers competing across three rounds.
The 2025 event continued the long-standing success of the MercedesTrophy India series, which attracts more than 60,000 Indian golfers each year. Winners from India’s national finals earned the opportunity to represent the country in Stuttgart, while the exclusive “Drive to Major” contest once again offered one standout Indian a VIP trip to The Open Championship.
This year’s “Drive to Major” winner was Kedar Thapar, who earned an all-expenses-paid trip to The Open Championship last July at Royal Portrush, Northern Ireland, where he played as a guest of Mercedes-Benz, the official automobile partner of The Open, at the championship venue following the final round.
Held annually at Mercedes-Benz’s global headquarters, the MercedesTrophy World Final remains one of amateur golf’s most prestigious events—combining competition, camaraderie, and the legendary hospitality of the brand.
