Veer Ganapathy, son of professional golfer Rahul Ganapathy and an IGU All India Junior Champion (2023), delivered a solid performance at the prestigious Dutch Junior Open held with rounds of 74-70-73-73 to finish Tied-21st at 2-over 290, emerging as the best-performing of 6 Indian junior boys in the field.

Currently ranked 8th in the IGU Gentlemen’s Category and 150th on the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), Veer has been in strong form this year. He clinched back-to-back wins at the Telangana Amateur Championship and Tamil Nadu Amateur Championship in March—adding further weight to his rising profile.

Following Veer was Pritish Singh Karayat of New Delhi, a 2023 NCR Cup (Delhi) winner, who shot 74-73-73-75 to finish tied-35th at 7-over 295.

Other Indian boys in the field—Ranveer Dhupia, Jashan Ganapathy, Arshvant Srivastava, Vinamra Anand, and Vedant Jain—unfortunately missed the halfway cut.

On the girls’ side, 16-year-old Aaradhya Shetty, ranked 18th in IGU Category A, was the lone Indian representative. She held her own with rounds of 75-75-73-75, securing a 10th place finish at 10-over 298.

The event drew 80 boys and 40 girls from around the world, with 42 boys and 20 girls making the halfway cut. For India’s young talents, it was a valuable week of experience on European turf—and a reminder of how far they need to improve.
