Jeev Milkha Singh’s senior journey will be watched with great interest

Jeev Milkha Singh, who turned 50 last December, missed the cut in his senior tour debut in America at the prestigious Senior PGA Championship in Michigan having received a special invite for the event.

The tournament was won by New Zealand’s Stephen Alker, who shot a final round 63 win by three shots over Canada’s Stephen Ames. Alker finished at 16-under while Ames was at 13-under. Champions Tour legend Bernhard Langer finished third at 10-under.

Singh had been invited to play the MCB Championship on the European Legends Tour three weeks ago in Mauritius, but the tournament was cancelled as rain prevented completion of even one round.

Over the course of his career, Singh has played in all four majors with a best finish of ninth at the 2008 PGA Championship. Singh has also won four times on the European Tour and the Japan tour. He has received the Arjuna Award and Padma Shree for his achievements. His performance on the Senior Tour will be watched with great interest.
