54 year old Jeev Milkha Singh rolled back the years to win the Rs 1.5 crore IGPL Invitational Sri Lanka at Royal Colombo Golf Club shooting a remarkable 15-under 198 (64-69-65) in a field including stars like Gaganjeet Bhullar, SSP Chawrasia and many others.
Jeev began the final round two behind but flipped the leaderboard with a blistering run of five straight birdies early. He kept the pressure on with two more birdies by the 14th, repeatedly firing approach shots inside 10 feet to take control.
Once ranked as high as 28th in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), Jeev has been competing on the European Legends Tour for the past four years. He has shown impressive consistency of late, recording three top-10 finishes in his last five starts, highlighted by a runner-up result at the MCB Mauritius Legends 2025 earlier this month. In 2026, he plans an ambitious schedule with 15 Legends Tour events and another 12 on the Senior Japan Tour — a demanding workload more typical of players in their prime than a veteran in his fifties.
His last professional win came at the 2012 Scottish Open and recently he has played a limited schedule on the main tours – occasionally teeing it up in Europe or Asia while focusing more on Senior events.
However the low scoring certainly augurs well for Jeev’s 2026 prospects and we will keep our readers updated on his progress in Europe and Japan.
