Cricket Legend turned ace golfer Kapil Dev started 2024 with a bang, acing the 16th hole on January 1st at Jaypee Greens Golf Resort, Greater Noida. Kapil used a 8 iron from around 160 yards approximately to hole out in his fourball game with friends. The group was waved up as a call hole so there was an additional fourball waiting a few feet from the pin who saw the ball disappear into the cup.
Kapil has turned considerable energy into promoting professional golf as the Vice-President of the PGTI ( Professional Golf Tour of India) with the introduction of the Rs 2 crore Kapil Dev Grant Thornton Invitational , the only domestic pro event staged at the exclusive DLF Golf & Country Club and signing up of other commercial supporters of the Tour. Indeed Kapil’s presence at press conferences and awards ceremonies has helped the profile and popularity of the PGTI immensely and we hope this upward trend continues.
