Kolkata RPGL League reaches semi finals

Royal Sharks is one of the four teams in the semi-finals

The Royal Calcutta Golf Club is hosting the 10th edition of the Royal Premier Golf League, with the season underway since January 2.

Launched in 2016, the RPGL has become one of the largest single venue amateur club leagues in India. The format has helped spark the growth of club leagues across the country, with several other clubs introducing similar competitions in recent years.

This year’s edition features 20 teams of 20 players each competing over a 12 week season. The teams are divided into two groups of 10, with each side playing the other nine teams in its group in a round robin format.

The top four teams from each group advance to the quarter finals before the tournament moves into the knockout stage.

Royal Sharks and Pioneer Hustlers have already secured their places in the semi finals, while two more teams will join them before the final scheduled for March 15.
