Lahiri Narrowly Misses LIV Win!

Anirban during the final round of LIV Golf Virginia

2-time Olympian and European Tour winner Anirban Lahiri came heartbreakingly close to breaking through for his first-ever LIV Golf victory, finishing tied-2nd at LIV Golf Virginia held from June 6-8 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, missing by just one stroke despite shooting a final-round 68.

However, Lahiri’s Crushers GC Team won their 2nd consecutive team title, led by the charismatic Bryson DeChambeau.

Despite not clinching the win, Lahiri’s runner-up finish was a significant step forward and his fifth career top-3 finish in LIV events since joining in 2023.

This was Lahiri’s second top-10 finish this season and his best of the year so far. The result lifts him to 13th in the LIV Golf Individual Standings, placing him comfortably in the league’s “Lock Zone”—the top 24 players who are guaranteed a spot for next season.

DeChambeau fired a final-round 65, to go with the 68s shot by Lahiri, Paul Casey, and Charles Howell III to clinch the team title.

“It’s a testament to these guys. The roster hasn’t changed. Everyone contributes,” DeChambeau said post-round.

The team win further consolidates Crushers GC’s standing in the team leaderboard, where they now trail only Legion XIII headed by Spaniard Jon Rahm.

Lahiri continues to remain one of the most consistent performers on tour without a win—an outcome he will be hoping to reverse in the six remaining events on the 2025 LIV calendar.
