35-year-old Anirban Lahiri, shot a superb final round 64 to finish on 18-under 270 to finish tied 2nd at the US$ 2mn International Series Vietnam on the Asian Tour despite facing challenges at home which forced him to fly back from the last LIV Golf event in USA.
Lahiri earned 4.59 World Ranking points which got him to 91st on the rankings and might even help him receive an invite to the second major of the year, the USPGA Championship in New York to be played in May.
This was Lahiri’s second Asian Tour event of 2023 after the Saudi International in February, where he shot 9-under 271 to finish tied 12th. He now heads to Australia for the LIV Golf event from April 21-23 in Adelaide followed by one in Singapore. Last December, Lahiri had also finished 2nd at an Asian Tour International Series event in Asia. Otherwise Lahiri has been seen in action on the LIV Golf Tour.
The Vietnam tournament was won by 25 year old Keiran Vincent of Zimbabwe, the younger brother of another winner on the Asian Tour – Scott Vincent.
