Avani during the final round
18-year-old LET rookie Avani Prashanth of Bangalore has secured her first career top-5 finish on the Ladies European Tour (LET), with a tied-5th finish at the Hulencourt Women’s Open, held from June 12-15 in Belgium.
Avani led by a stroke after 54 holes but faltered in the final round, carding a 3-over 75 to finish four shots behind winner Darcey Harry of Wales, in a tie with Ireland’s Lauren Walsh for fifth place at 7-under 281 with rounds of 68-69-69-75.
Avani, who turned professional last year after securing her LET card at the LET Qualifying Tournament in Morocco, recorded her first top-10 finish and added to four top-20s and eight cuts made in 10 LET events so far. She now jumps to 24th in the LET 2025 Rankings and adds a healthy dose of confidence for the rest of the year.
24-year-old Diksha Dagar of Delhi, India’s top-ranked LET player at No. 10 in the 2025 Rankings, posted a 1-under 287 to finish tied-23rd, adding to a strong season with four top-10s—including a runner-up finish in Morocco.
Tvesa Malik, a 13-time winner on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (HWPGT), battled to a T-48 finish at 5-over 293.
The remaining four Indians in the field fell short of the cut, which was set at 3-over 147 after 36 holes, including HWPGT stalwart Vani Kapoor of Gurgaon, who has 4 wins domestically in 2025, 2023 India No. 1 Sneha Singh of Hyderabad, recent HWPGT winner Amandeep Drall of Chandigarh, and 2024 India No. 1 Hitaashee Bakshi—who is just in her 3rd week on tour.
