LET – Diksha 5th in Australia

Diksha Dagar in conversation with her father Col. Narinder Dagar

2-time Olympian Diksha Dagar fired rounds of 69-73-69-71 for a fifth place finish at 6-under 282 at the US$ 430,000 Australian Women’s Classic, a Ladies European Tour (LET) event.

The 25-year-old, a two-time Ladies European Tour winner, remained steady with only a second round 73 being her over-par round of the week. She finished T-20th last week at the US$430,000 Women’s NSW Open, where she was the lone Indian player to make the cut. Diksha now moves to No.10 on the LET season rankings.

Pranavi Urs was the next best Indian in the field at 14th at 2-under 286, following rounds of 72-66-70-78. Pranavi entered the final round standing 5th at 8-under and a final round 78 missed her out of a probable top-5 finish for the week.

Avani Prashanth (77-72) and Hitaashee Bakshi (82-69) were unable to make the weekend rounds.

The tour will remain in Australia for two more weeks and the Indian contingent will play the US$ 1.2mn Women’s Australian Open from March 12-15.
