Andy Ogletree finds redemption with elevation to LIV Golf

Andy Ogletree, a 25-year-old American and the 2019 U.S. Amateur champion, previously holding a conditional status on the Korn Ferry Tour, secured victory in two International Series events: the International Series Qatar in February and the International Series England in August. With a total of two wins and five top-10 finishes in nine appearances, he accumulated earnings totaling US$1,093,416 (₹9.10 crores approx). This remarkable performance not only crowned him as the Order of Merit champion but also rendered him eligible for promotion to LIV Golf in the upcoming season.

The International Series has proven to be important for LIV Golfers who, otherwise blocked from World Ranking points, can maintain their rankings earning points on the Asian Tour. An exemplary case is Anirban Lahiri, who joined LIV Golf in August 2022 and has successfully stayed within the top 200 since then. He concluded the International Series season by securing the 10th spot amassing earnings of US$319,300, in just three events.

Karandeep Kochhar finished 37th on the rankings with earnings of US$ 139,225 followed by Gaganjeet Bhullar at 46th with US$ 116,478.

In total only six Indians finished inside the top-100 of the International Series Order of Merit. The other three were –

Ajeetesh Sandhu – 63rd
Chikkarangappa S. – 74th
Veer Ahlawat – 96th
Rashid Khan – 101
