Aditi recorded a disappointing week at her 2nd Major Championship of the year

India’s top-ranked lady pro golfer Aditi Ashok endured a tough outing at the $12 million KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, missing the cut in her second Major of the season in Texas, shooting 81 and 83 to finish at 20-over 164, well outside the cutline.

The 27-year-old from Bangalore, who had posted a career-best T-29 finish at this championship back in 2017, was looking to build momentum following a strong top-10 finish at the LPGA’s Mexico Riviera Maya Open in May. However, this week marked her fifth missed cut in 10 starts on the LPGA Tour this year. She is 92nd in the Rankings, with only one top-10 finish to her name.

Australia’s 29-year-old Minjee Lee, sister of PGA TOUR winner Min Woo Lee, rose to the occasion to collect her third career Major title. Lee closed with a gritty 2-over 74 in the final round to finish at 4-under 284 and secure a comfortable three-shot victory over Chanettee Wannasaen of Thailand and Auston Kim of the USA, both of whom tied for second at 1-under 287.

Lee joins elite company as only the third Australian golfer in history to win three or more Majors—alongside Karrie Webb and Jan Stephenson.

A cluster of prominent names including Lydia Ko, Lexi Thompson, Charley Hull, and Jenny Shin closed at T-12.

This marked the third women’s Major of 2025. Two more Majors remain— the Amundi Evian Championship in France and the AIG Women’s Open—where Aditi will look to regroup and make her presence felt.

Up Ahead
The LPGA’s Dow Championship gets underway this week from June 26-29 at the Midland Country Club in Michigan.
