A team of six golfers representing India have been invited to play the 2nd World Urban Golf Cup in  Luxembourg this October.

The tournament which aims to promote the concept of golf being played on the streets with makeshift obstacles, clubs and balls, was first played in 2018 in Paris where India finished 6th while competing against teams from France, Germany, Czech Republic, Holland etc.

The invitation was sent by Sascha Bien, the co-founder of the World Urban Golf Cup, to Anil Mane, a Mumbai based PGTI pro and a member of the 2018 team which visited Paris. The Indian team members learned to play golf in the slums and therefore became skilled in improvisation – much like “gully” cricket.

The team will be supported by Zaverchand Sports once again.
