PGTI announces early 2024 schedule

PGTI to play 11 tournaments in a two and a half months

The Tata Steel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), which is going to hold its annual qualifying tournament later this month, has announced its partial schedule from February through April consisting of seven tournaments, including the two European Challenge Tour events repeating from last year and the much awaited US$2 million Hero Indian Open.

The tour in 2023 achieved record prize money thanks to a boost from its growing relationship with Tata Steel as well as the tie up with the PGA and DP World (European) Tours announced in 2023. This led to players earning more prize money than ever before with No 1 – Om Prakash Chouhan setting a record for single season earnings at over Rs 1.1 crores.

The tour will begin its 2024 journey with the Tata Steel Players Championship at Tollygunge Club, Kolkata from Feb. 13-16 and head to Hyderabad for the Vooty Masters from Feb. 21-24.

The week of Feb. 29-March 3 is expected to see a new event.

In March the tour will stage the Gujarat Open from March. 6-9 at Glade One and  quickly follow it with the two European Challenge Tour events – Delhi Challenge at Classic Golf & CC and Kolkata Challenge at RCGC, followed by the European Tour’s US$2 million Hero Indian Open from Mar. 28-31 at DLF GC.

Last March the European Tour staged the two US$300,000 Challenge Tour events at KGA in keeping with its agreement with the PGTI.

The tour has planned four more events in April.

In total, the PGTI announced it will stage 11 events within a span of two and a half months.
