Arjun Prasad ended a long wait for his maiden professional title with a four-stroke victory at the ₹1 crore Tamil Nadu Open 2025, at the Coimbatore Golf Club.
The 26-year-old from Delhi, who turned pro in 2017 and had collected 10 top-10s including two runner-up finishes this season, finally crossed the line with rounds of 70-70-68-72 for eight-under 280. He became the only player in the field not to card an over-par round.
The win earned Prasad ₹15 lakh and, more significantly, propelled him to second on the PGTI Rankings with season earnings of ₹84.7 lakh. He now trails leader Yuvraj Sandhu by less than ₹4 lakh, setting up an exciting battle as the season heads into its decisive stretch.
Chandigarh’s Jairaj Singh Sandhu (284) and Sri Lanka’s N Thangaraja (284) shared second place, while Hyderabad’s Mohd Azhar and Bangladesh’s Jamal Hossain tied fourth at 286.
For Prasad, who once played alongside Tommy Fleetwood at the 2016 Indian Open as an amateur, this long-awaited breakthrough offers not just relief but momentum heading into marquee events, including the DP World India Championship later this month.
