PGTI – Khalin gets Andhra Open win

33-year-old Khalin Joshi, a former Asian Tour winner from Bangalore carded rounds of 68-68-70-69 (9-under 275) to win the Andhra Open Golf Championship by a four-stroke margin in Visakhapatnam.

The victory marked his seventh professional title , his last coming back in  August 2022. The win also triggered a significant jump on the PGTI rankings, moving him from 55th to 12th with season earnings of .₹18,13,875.

Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma produced the round of the week, firing a course-record 65 to surge from tied 13th to finish runner-up at five-under 279. His late charge, built on seven birdies including five on the back nine, came up short.

Saptak Talwar, the current rankings leader, finished tied-third at 4-under 280 alongside Yash Majmudar. Talwar extended his lead at the top of the standings at ₹75,80,000, continuing his consistent run this season.

The tour is in Hyderabad this week for the inaugural Boulders Classic from April 14-17.
