Yuvraj Sandhu capped a dream year with a historic triumph at the INR 2 crore TATA Open in Jamshedpur, becoming the first player in PGTI history to win seven titles in a single season.
The 28‑year‑old Chandigarh golfer (67‑64‑68‑65) fired a closing six‑under 65, sinking a 15‑foot birdie on the final hole to finish 20‑under 264 at the Beldih and Golmuri courses. His record‑setting season featured seven wins, seven top‑10s, three runner‑up finishes, and a 36.84% win rate in 19 starts.
On the whole, PGTI offered 24 tournaments with a total record ₹28.1 cr of prize money on offer, up from ₹20 cr in 2024 – a remarkable 40% leap ! New sponsors like Indorama Ventures, Adani Group, IndusInd Bank and Amul came on board and the Tour visited top courses like Delhi GC, Jaypee Greens, Classic Golf Resort, KGA, Royal Calcutta, Chandigarh GC & Kalhaar Blues & Greens.
Already crowned 2025 PGTI’s season rankings winner and bound for the DP World Tour in 2026, Sandhu ended with all‑time‑high season earnings of ₹1.91 crore, breaking Veer Ahlawat’s 2024 record of ₹1.56 crore.
With the tour set to grow its purses further in 2026 and add an official PGTI league over two weeks with IPL-type teams – launching in February – the prospects for pro golfers in India have never been brighter.
