PGTI Qualifying Tournament returns to Ahmedabad

Amateur Pritish Singh Karyat won the Pre-Qualifying II in Ahmedabad by six-shots

The PGTI Qualifying School returned to Ahmedabad after a four-year gap, with the opening stages of the 2026 season pathway underway at Kensville Golf & Country Club. The event had previously been staged at Golmuri Golf Course in Jamshedpur during the period when Tata Steel was the Tour’s main sponsor.

The Qualifying Tournaments, the only route into the PGTI, has drawn 450-plus golfers, including 39 internationals, across three Pre-Qualifying events that feed into the Final Stage later this month.

Pre-Qualifying I was won by Md Nawab of Patna, who finished at 1-under 143 after rounds of 71–72.

The standout performance came in Pre-Qualifying II, where 17-year-old amateur Pritish Singh Karayat shot 65–69 to win by 6 shots.

Pre-Qualifying III is being played on January 23–24, with  qualifiers advancing to the Final Qualifying Stage (Jan. 27–30).

The Final Stage carries a ₹10 lakh prize purse, but more importantly, it decides who gets to play — and how often — across the 2026 PGTI season.
