Veteran Om Prakash Chouhan ended a two-year winless run in style, producing a late surge to win the INR 1.5 crore Players Championship 2026 at Tollygunge Club, Kolkata.

The 39-year-old signed for a closing 6-under 64 to finish at 16-under 264 (69-67-64-64), clinching his 12th professional title and a winner’s cheque of INR 22.5 lakh. Chouhan has been PGTI Rankings winner in 2023 which earned him playing rights in Europe where he failed to make a mark.

Chouhan needed a nerveless 10-foot par putt on the par 3, 18th to avoid a three-way playoff with Shaurya Bhattacharya and Manu Gandas — and he delivered.

23-year-old Bhattacharya from New Delhi, the leader for the first three days, and Gandas, who was the PGTI Rankings winner in 2024,  the joint leader after round three, both closed with 66 to finish tied second at 15-under 265. 25-year-old Kshitij Naveed Kaul from New Delhi was fourth at 14-under.

Among Kolkata players, 36-year-old Divyanshu Bajaj was best placed in T-25, as the home challenge faded.
