Sharma stumbles on the weekend in Spain

Shubhankar Sharma currently stands 55th in the Race to Dubai Rankings

Shubhankar Sharma, who recently finished tied for eighth 8th at The Open, opened strongly with 66-66 to lie 2nd at the halfway stage but stumbled on the weekend with 72-71 to end at a disappointing 35th spot in the US$ 3.25mn Acciona Open in Madrid, Spain.

Having played 21 events, Sharma is currently 55th on the European Tour’s Race to Dubai Rankings. He has made just 10 cuts and has three top-10 finishes.

Meanwhile, Manu Gandas shot 73-69 (even-par) to miss yet another cut, this one by two strokes.

The European (DP World) Tour will continue in Spain for the US$ 3.75mn Andalucia Masters from Oct. 19-22, one of the last regular season events before the season finale in Dubai in November.
