Shubhankar Sharma, continued his impressive recent run of form in Europe with a solid 12th place finish at the US$ 3.5mn Italian Open in Rome shooting 75-66-69-66 (8-under 276) which included four consecutive birdies in the final round.
Sharma picked up US$ 56,000 (₹ 40.8 lacs) in Rome, taking his total European Tour season earnings to US$ 255,500 (₹ 1.86 crores) moving him to 104th on the European Tour’s Race to Dubai Rankings with 9 more events to go. The top-128 in the final rankings automatically extend their playing rights for the 2022 European Tour season.
In 2021, Sharma has so far made 13 cuts in 22 events, with two Top-10 finishes and now heads to England for the US$ 8mn BMW PGA Championship from Sep. 9-12 which is part of the elite Rolex series.
