The DP World (European) Tour’s Asian Swing commenced with the Porsche Singapore Classic from March 20-23 at the Laguna National in Singapore. The weather-affected tournament was impacted by heavy rain and shortened to 54 holes, with the first round cancelled.

Chandigarh-based Shubhankar Sharma, the 2018 Asian Tour Rankings winner, continued his bid to regain form with rounds of 68-72-69, finishing tied-36th at 7-under, before heading home for this week’s Hero Indian Open (HIO).

2024 PGTI Rankings winner Veer Ahlawat, the only other Indian on the DP World Tour, endured a difficult week as he finished at the bottom rung of the field at tied-123rd after two rounds, thereby missing the 36-hole cut. Ahlawat, last year’s HIO runner-up, will look to regroup ahead of this week’s event.

England’s Richard Mansell captured his maiden DP World Tour title with a final-round 6-under 66, securing a one-shot victory at 16-under 200. Mansell sank a two-putt birdie from 100 feet on the 18th to edge past defending HIO Champion Keita Nakajima of Japan.

The Hero Indian Open, scheduled from March 27-30, is set to host one of its strongest fields in history, featuring recent DP World Tour winners, including Mansell.

The event will be broadcast live on FanCode for Indian audiences eager to follow the action.
