Shubhankar Sharma’s 2025 season was a challenging “rollercoaster” defined by technical struggles and a long stretch of missed cuts only to be salvaged in the final week at the 2026 Qualifying Tournament.

  • Race to Dubai Ranking: 178th (Resulted in the loss of his full DP World Tour card).
  • World Ranking: Slipped significantly to  #586.

2. Technical Evaluation

  • Equipment Mastery: D Sharma openly admitted to major struggles with new equipment. The “continuous tinkering” with club shafts and setups disrupted his rhythm and was cited as the primary cause for the missed cut streak.
  • Mental Fortitude: A- Despite the psychological toll of losing his card, Sharma maintained the composure needed for the high-pressure Q-School.
  • Short Game & Putting: C Inconsistent performance on the greens contributed to several missed cuts by just 1 or 2 strokes.

  • The Low Point: Missing 17 consecutive cuts was a career-first slump that saw him fall out of the top 150 in the Race to Dubai.

He started the 2026 season without the form he showed at the Qualifier in Spain. Here’s hoping his search for the perfect equipment is fruitful so he can play at the potential which saw him finish 8th in gruelling conditions at the 2023 British Open Championship – the best ever performance at the Open by an Indian,  in history.
