Strong field expected at National Games Golf

Avani Prashanth will represent Karnataka at the National Games in Ahmedabad

A strong turnout of male and female amateur and professional golfers representing various states and union territories across the country make the Golf event at the National Games one of the most compelling team events of the year on the National circuit. The Kensville Golf & CC in Ahmedabad, will host the four round tournament from Oct. 5-9.

Participants nominated to play are below:

As per the IOA, National games are akin to Asian Games / Commonwealth games, where every player participating in a Team or Individual event has to participate under a state banner.

The medal events are as below:-

Men Team – Gold, Silver Bronze

Women Team – Gold, Silver, Bronze

Men Individual – Gold, Silver, Bronze

Women Individual – Gold, Silver, Bronze

Medals won by players in the Individual category will also be counted in the state medal tally they belong to while declaring the winner state.

All individual players – pros and amateurs while paying for individual medals will also be representing their respective states.

Team composition state wise along with a list of Individual players of that state is as above. All State Golf Associations are to coordinate with their respective state Olympic associations, and they would be responsible for their kitting, air tickets, accommodations and all other administrative and logistical requirements. The IGU will coordinate with IOA and assist all the SGAs to coordinate with the respective state Olympic associations. Detailed guidelines will be issued as and when received. Players / SGAs of the respective states are to liaise with their respective state Olympic associations.

We look forward to a unique inter state team competition featuring amateurs and pros, men and women, in what promises to be a prestigious new title on the national circuit.
