Scottie Scheffler wins his second major of the season at The Open

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler continued his reign at the top of the game with a dominant performance at the 153rd Open Championship, capturing his fourth career major title and second of the 2025 season. Scheffler carded rounds of 68-64-67-68 for a 17-under total of 267, securing a four-shot victory at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.

Already a two-time Masters champion and now with the PGA Championship and The Open under his belt, Scheffler is just a U.S. Open title away from the elusive career grand slam—a feat only six players in history have achieved. At this pace, 2026 or 2027 could mark the arrival of golf’s seventh Grand Slam winner.

Scheffler entered the final round with a four-shot cushion. A brief stumble came on the par-4 8th, where a tough bunker lie led to a double bogey. But the Texan quickly refocused and closed with a steady 68 to seal the win. Harris English finished solo second at 13-under, highlighted by a closing 66.

LIV Golfers: Bryson’s Big Bounce Back

Bryson DeChambeau turned heads once again. After an opening 78, he rebounded with rounds of 65-68-64, the latter being the lowest round of the week, matched only by Scheffler in Round 2. He finished T-10 at 9-under and led the field in driving distance with a 327.5-yard average.

Tyrrell Hatton, representing Legion XIII, posted 68-69-68-72 to finish T-16 at 7-under.
