US College Golf: Megha Ganne T-10 In Nationals

Megha Ganne finished tied-10th in the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf National Championship

Indian-American collegiate golfer Megha Ganne, who hails from New Jersey, recorded a Tied-10th finish at the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf National Championship, held at Omni La Costa Resort in California from May 16–19. The 21-year-old third-year student at Stanford University posted rounds of 74-71-70-69 to finish at 4-under 284, contributing significantly to Stanford’s dominant title defense.

Ganne, currently ranked 11th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), had the team’s low round on the final day with a 3-under 69. She was joined at T-10 by her Swedish teammate and Freshman, Meja Örtengren. Stanford finished stroke play at 27-under, setting a new NCAA Championship scoring record, including an all-time single-round record of 18-under on Sunday.

In the team standings, Oregon finished second behind Stanford. Former India No. 1 junior Anika Varma, now a third-year student at the University of Oregon, was substituted into the lineup for Rounds 2 and 3. She returned solid back-to-back even-par 72s, contributing to Oregon’s qualification into the match-play quarterfinals.

The National Championships end with a matchplay knockout format between the Top-8 teams, which are Stanford, Oregon, Northwestern, Florida State, USC, Arkansas, Texas, and Virginia.
