Veer Ahlawat made his first cut of the 2025 European Tour season
Last year’s Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) No. 1 Veer Ahlawat successfully made the cut for the first time on the European (DP World) Tour since earning his membership, which he earned by topping the PGTI Rankings in 2024. The 28-year-old displayed comfortable control and consistency to finish tied-27th at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship in Al Hamra GC.
The 2024 Hero Indian Open (HIO) Runner-up started strong with an opening-round 70, followed by a 69 on the second day. Despite a challenging third round where he posted a 73, he bounced back with three birdies on the last six holes for another 69 in the final round to end the week at a total score of 7-under 281.
Fellow DP World Tour (DPWT) member Shubhankar Sharma still remains on the hunt to make a payday after missing two cuts in two starts in his 2025 season. Sharma’s two rounds left him with a mixed bag of some positives and some setbacks—Despite a strong second-round 69, his opening 75 left him with too much ground to cover, resulting in a missed cut by just one stroke. He will be looking for a redeeming performance in his next outing on tour to open his account on the Race To Dubai Rankings.
Sharma will aim to regain his form on home soil at the International Series India this week as he guns to go low in an elite line up.
Meanwhile, Veer will continue on to Bahrain for the DPWT’s Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, in Bahrain.
