Willingdon Sports Club’s Annual Day sees 300 golfers

The Willingdon Sports Club marked its Annual Day with 300 golfers participating in the golf tournament over two days followed by an awards ceremony and gala evening in Mumbai.

The event brought together members and guests for a day of competitive golf and celebration. Amit Sinha, MD and CEO of Mahindra Lifespaces, presented the winning team award to the pair of Nikhil Bardia and Arjun Nohwar who scored 42 points in the Greensomes format, where both players hit their drives, choose the best placed tee shot and then play alternate shots till the ball is holed out. 

A stunning array of over 100 trophies were also claimed at the gala awards dinner with some of the trophies dating back over a century, underlining the rich tradition of Willingdon Sports Club.

The evening saw leading figures from sport and business in attendance, including Rishi Narain, Mihir Doshi, Ramdeo Agarwal and other guests, adding to the occasion’s stature.

Individual honours recognised standout performers from the season, with Raiz Batlivala named Golfer of the Year, Darshika Ajoomal winning Lady Golfer of the Year and Pradeep Patel receiving the Senior Golfer of the Year award. The latter was presented by Mrs Rashmi Jolly in memory of Late Arvind Jolly.

On course, members also took part in special contests, including the Motilal Oswal Straightest Drive Challenge.

The night came alive with Band “A 26”, delivering high-energy vibes long after the trophies were handed out

The celebrations continued into the night with live music from Band “A 26”, rounding off an evening that blended sport, recognition and community spirit.
