The week-long Women’s Golf Day event starts this month, from May 27 to June 3
Women’s Golf Day (WGD), a global initiative designed to engage, empower, and support women and girls in golf, returns this year for its annual week-long celebration from May 27 to June 3. Launched in 2016, the event has grown to become one of the most inclusive and far-reaching efforts in golf, offering participants of all skill levels a chance to connect with the sport and each other, across borders and backgrounds. In India, the Delhi Golf Club Ladies Section has participated for the past few years.
WGD is a coordinated celebration of women’s participation in golf that now spans over 1,200 locations across 80 countries, with both in-person activities and online programming under the campaign “Bring a Friend & Get Social.” The event offers an accessible and welcoming four-hour experience where women and girls can either learn the basics or improve their existing skills, while also building a global support network of peers, mentors, and industry professionals.
Open to all—regardless of gender, age, ability, or background—WGD encourages anyone to be part of the movement. The activities are inclusive by design, and participation is open to all.
WGD Palooza Digital Event
This year’s celebrations begin with WGD Palooza on May 27, a digital event streamed across all of Women’s Golf Day’s social media platforms. The virtual celebration includes giveaways, insights, interviews with golf industry leaders, and opportunities to connect with the global WGD community.
From informative segments to interactive sessions, WGD Palooza sets the tone for the rest of the week. Past editions have featured appearances by top professionals, coaches, and influential voices in golf—making it a must-attend for golf fans and aspiring players alike.
Vision and Mission
Founded by American writer Elisa Gaudet, who specialises in the golf industry, Women’s Golf Day is driven by the goal of making golf more accessible and enjoyable for women around the world. At its core, WGD seeks to:
- Promote golf as a lifelong sport that teaches valuable life and business skills.
- Create opportunities for new players to try the game in a fun, social environment.
- Offer existing players a platform to give back and mentor others.
- Engage communities through charity-focused and grassroots programming.
In addition to individual participation, golf courses, clubs, and retail partners across the world are encouraged to host official WGD events. Registration for locations remains open, and venues can sign up at womensgolfday.com to become part of the international schedule. The program provides event hosts with the structure, branding, and promotional support to run impactful local events with global visibility.
Events have been successfully held at elite golf clubs, public driving ranges, universities, and even community centers.
