Tvesa, Diksha shine in Finland

25-year-old Tvesa Malik & 20-year-old Diksha Dagar, finished tied-2nd and tied-4th respectively at the US$ 240,000 Gant Ladies Open in Finland.

Tvesa shot rounds of 68-75-68 (2-under par) to add US$ 17,800 (₹ 13.2lakhs), while finishing just three strokes behind the local, Matilda Castren at 5-under.

Coming off a solid win at the inaugural Aramco Team Series in London, Diksha shot 72-69-71 (1-under par) to add US$ 8800 (₹ 6.5lakhs) to her 2021 season earnings. 

In 2021, Tvesa has played in 9 events and made cuts in seven of them, with top-10 results in four and total season earnings at US$ 43,200 (₹ 32.2lakhs). Her tied-2nd performance also helped her jump to 11th position with 492.59 points on the LET’s Race to Costa Del Sol Order of Merit.

Whereas, Diksha in 2021 has played in seven events, made cuts in six of them, with three Top-10 results and total season earnings at US$78,000 (₹ 58 lakhs). The US$50,000 prize money from the inaugural Aramco Team Series in London has grown her prize kitty exceptionally. Diksha with 383.79 points, currently stands 14th on the LET’s Order of Merit.

Other Indians in the field included Astha Madan and Vani Kapoor. Astha shot rounds of 79-76 (+13) and Vani 77-79 (+14) to miss the cut line set at 9-over par. 

The four Indian women will not get into this week’s major – the Evian Championship but Tvesa and Diksha are confirmed to play the US$ 1.5mn ISPS Handa World Invitational in Northern Ireland from July 29 – August 1.
