Tiger Woods won his 82nd PGA TOUR title at the ZOZO Championship with a dominant display in Japan, on all four days.
The 15-time major champion kept the local boy Hideki Matsuyama, three shots away from him at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club after a final round 67.
Tiger has now matched Sam Snead’s record of 82 PGA TOUR wins, with the pair now nine clear of Jack Nicklaus.
This is how the social media world reacted to this historical moment:
Incredibly happy for @TigerWoods–and for game of golf–on his 82nd @PGATOUR win. For a number of years, all we wanted was to see Tiger healthy again, but for his quality of life. But it's very obvious that the surgery and the hard work Tiger put in resulted in quality of golf!

When Tiger Woods is healthy, he’s still the best golfer in the world, even at 43, with all the injuries, all the adversity, just try to wrap your mind around that. Quite incredible.

Tiger woods wins again for the 3rd time in 13 months (read that in an Irish accent). Again, When everyone counts you out do the complete opposite and show them.

Unbelievable week in Japan. First off, congrats to the greatest golfer to play(my opinion) on his 82nd victory. Insane number! Second, the fans were amazing. The support for the event was awesome to see! Excited to return to Japan for many years ahead! @zozochamp
