Rory McIlroy celebrates winning the Amgen Irish Open with his wife Erica Stoll and daughter Poppy

World No. 2 Rory McIlroy claimed his fourth title of the season, winning the Amgen Irish Open at in a playoff. McIlroy, runner-up last year, shot 71-66-68-66 to tie Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren at 17-under before sealing victory with a birdie on the third extra hole. It was his third playoff win of 2025, adding to The Players and The Masters.

McIlroy will make his maiden trip to India next month for the inaugural US$4 million DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club, joining FedEx Cup champion Tommy Fleetwood. Fleetwood, making his third appearance in India, was tied-9th at the 2013 Avantha Masters and 67th at the 2016 Hero Indian Open won by S.S.P. Chawrasia.

The US$4mn DP World India Championship, co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India, will feature the richest prize fund in the country’s history.
