Pranavi is making steady moves on the LET Rankings
Pranavi Urs, 22, carded 72-69-74 for a tied-50th finish at 1-under 215 at the US$2 million Aramco Houston Championship, emerging as the only Indian to make the cut.
The Mysuru golfer, who earned her Ladies European Tour (LET) card at Qualifying School in December 2023, was tied-26th after two rounds but slipped with a closing 74. Still, this marked her second straight week as the best Indian in the field after finishing 21st in Sweden.
With the result, Pranavi, who missed the bulk of this season due to injuries, climbed to 81st on the LET Rankings, behind Diksha Dagar (17th) and rookie Avani Prashanth (42nd). In her first season on LET in 2024, she finished the year in a very creditable 17th position.
Avani, 18, shot 73-73 to miss the cut by two, while Tvesa Malik exited at 6-over with rounds of 73-77.
The tour now heads back to Switzerland for the US$ 340,000 VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open from Sep. 11-13 where additional Indian players like Sneha Singh of Hyderabad and Hitaashee Bakshi of Delhi will join the tournament.
