Delhi’s Raghav Chugh to test himself in India before eyeing global circuits
New Delhi’s Raghav Chugh, 22, a recent graduate of Rice University, Texas, has turned professional and will begin his journey in India.
Chugh ended his amateur career with strong results in the UK this summer. He posted 75-68-72-71 for a tied-12th finish at the prestigious Tillman Trophy in England and later shot 67-71-69 to finish fourth at the Peter Alliss Trophy, just four strokes behind the winner. He also teed it up at the British Amateur Championship during the same stint.
At Rice, Chugh set a new benchmark as the university’s all-time leader in scoring average at 72.71, underlining his consistency across four years. His decision mirrors fellow Delhi Golf Club product Shubham Jaglan, who turned pro earlier this year after graduating from the University of South Florida and now plays on the PGA Tour Americas.
Chugh’s transition into the pro ranks adds another promising young name to the list of Indians making the leap from U.S. college golf to the professional circuit.
