Saptak crosses top-100 mark on the tour

Saptak Talwar, the 26-year-old Delhi-born professional golfer and India’s sole representative on the European Challenge Tour (now known as the HotelPlanner Tour), carded rounds of 67-71-72-70 to register a 41st place finish at the US$ 340,000 GAC Rosa Challenge Tour event in Poland, marking his 14th cut made in 17 events.

Saptak moved to 95th on the tour’s rankings, making him eligible for a conditional status for 2026, with only four events remaining in the season; it would be interesting to see if he can manage to jump inside the top-77 to catch a full card for the following season. He also has

Playing his first full season after earning his card through qualifying school in winter 2024, Talwar’s season-best performance remains a 14th place finish at the Irish Challenge in August.

The HotelPlanner Tour, rebranded in 2025 under a multi-year sponsorship with HotelPlanner, offers a season prize fund exceeding €9 million, with each European event guaranteeing at least €300,000. India also has a long-standing history with the tour, hosting two €300,000 events in March 2023, one of which was won by Mhow’s Om Prakash Chouhan at the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) in Bengaluru.

The tour now moves to Portugal for its US$ 340,000 Open de Portugal from Sep. 11-14.
