Prince Bainsla emerged as the best Indian in Vietnam

16-year-old Prince Bainsla, ranked 10th in the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Junior Boys Category A standings, finished third in the Boys 16 and Under category and 10th overall at the Faldo Series Asian Final in Vietnam. He posted rounds of 69-70-75 to close at 1-over 214 at the renowned Laguna Lang Co Golf Club, in Danang.

Bainsla, who trains under Tarun Sardesai at Zion Hills in Bangalore was the best-placed Indian in the field.

Vivaan Ubhayankar,  finished 16th in Boys 16 and Under and 44th overall after rounds of 77-77-77 (18-over 231).

In the Boys 21 and Under category, Indian-American Nikhil Pande finished 10th at 13-over 226 (71-73-82), placing 37th overall.

Among the girls, Keethana Rajeev Kumar, ranked 13th in IGU Category A, finished fourth in Girls 21 and Under and 17th overall at 5-over 218 (71-72-75). Priya Kumari, ranked 7th, secured third place in Girls 16 and Under and 14th overall with rounds of 71-74-72.

All four players qualified through the Faldo Series India event held at Zion Hills on the outskirts of Bangalore, in January. Bainsla topped the Boys 16 and Under category there with rounds of 74-67-74 (1-under 215), the only under-par total in the field. Pande led the Boys 21 and Under category at 8-over 224 (72-78-74), while Priya Kumari won the Girls 16 and Under division at 8-over 224 (79-69-76). Keethana claimed the Girls 21 and Under category with rounds of 68-76-73 (1-over 217).

The Faldo Series India qualifier at Zion Hills drew 41 Junior Tour competitors and 29 Futures players, creating an opportunity for budding young juniors to get amazing international exposure at a top class course and world class players from around Asia Pacific.
