Club Enters Into Reciprocal Agreement

Classic Golf & Country Club

Classic Golf & Country Club entered into its newest reciprocal affiliation with the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA). This will now entitle members to avail the same member privileges at KGA on their travels to Bengaluru.

Other such affiliations include:
• Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Mumbai
• Royal Springs Golf Course, Srinagar
• Royal Selangor Golf Club, Kuala Lumpur
• Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Kolkata
• Tollygunge Club, Kolkata

A ‘Letter of Introduction’ from Classic Golf & Country Club is required to be presented at the time of registration at the respective affiliated club.

PCGC Win Prestigious Quadrangular

Played among four of Pune’s oldest golf clubs— Southern Star Training Area and Sports Complex GC, Poona Club GC, National Defence Academy GC and College of Military Engineering GC—the Quadrangular Golf Tournament was first organised in 1979 to promote inter-club bonhomie and understanding amongst the golfing fraternity. Played over four rounds, one round at each course, teams face off in the final at SSTA&SC. This year, each team had 12 players and, for the first time, children participated too. Each club had a golfer below the age of 15 in their team. PCGC emerged winners while SSTA&SC finished runner-up.

Lalit Golf & Spa Resort

Lalit Golf & Spa Resort organised Navy Tournament late January, which saw enthusiastic participation from 22 golfers. The format of play was Stableford. Cmde Rajesh Dhankar was declared an overall winner.

Qutab Clubhouse Gets An Upgrade

Qutab Golf Course, the first public course in the country is undergoing redevelopment. The new Clubhouse was inaugurated by the Anil Baijal, the Lt. Governor of Delhi, during the LG cup on February 24.

The clubhouse has state-of-the-art facilities such as change rooms, gymnasium, coffee shop, conference room, golf shop and rooftop restaurant. The driving range is also undergoing renovation in terms of raising its height and making a two-level hitting bay. While the front 9 is open for play, the back nine is expected to be ready later this year.

Woman’s Day Celebration

Kensville Golf Academy

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Kensville Golf Academy organised a special event for lady golfers on March 9. It was a nine-hole, Par 3, Pitch and Putt tournament that had to be played with two clubs only. As many as 22 ladies participated and the enthusiasm was evident. With a score of 28, Tvisha Patel was declared winner.
