Golf Carnival sees an impressive turnout

Hamoni Golf Carnival

Hamoni Golf Camp organized the 2nd Winter Golf Carnival featuring merchandise, accessories, and equipment from leading golf brands like Callaway, Golf Garage, Mizuno, Srixon and Titleist among others. The two-day event (December 15-16, 2018) witnessed over 400 walk-ins each day. Competitions such as ‘Hit the Target’ and ‘Beat the Pro’ were held to keep the visitors engaged and winners took home prizes. Yoga sessions with Isha Lall from ISHALLYOGA were scheduled on both days while Foresight Sports’ award-winning launch monitor GCQuad was available for trial. The Royal Enfield stall housed the recently-launched 650 Twin that was quite the crowd pleaser.

Lively participation at Inter-School event

Otherside Golf Club

Otherside Golf Club played host to The Otherside Inter-School Golf Championship on November 25, 2018. 28 children from across 14 schools took part. Skills challenge such as closest to pin and putting and chipping were also part of the event.

EPGA Hosts Children In Need

Ecopark Golf Arena (EPGA) hosted 14 girls from “Child In Need Society” for a golf clinic and lunch. The children also visited the Seven Wonders of the World at Ecopark. This was an initiative by EPGA, along with its public partner HIDCO, to make golf accessible. More of such programmes are being planned.

CLW wins All-India Railways Golf Championship

The four-member team of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), Asansol won the 63rd Inter Railway Golf Tournament held from December 6-8 at Patna Golf Club. The event was organized by East Central Railways and CLW tasted success for a fourth consecutive year.
The winning team comprised Ajit Rawat, Sahil Kumar Singh (Best Golfer NET), Debyoti Ghosh and Vinay Kumar Yadav (Best Golfer GROSS). Diesel Locomotive Works finished runner-up while South Central Railway was third.

Katrin Tiitus and Juri Tiitus of GolfLife Travel, Estonia enjoyed a few rounds of golf with their friends. The group teed off on scenic golf courses in and around Delhi NCR. They were exploring a new golfing destination for their clients and the burgeoning golf scene in India impressed them. “India really is incredible! … Jaypee Greens and Classic Golf & Country Club are both perfect for holiday golf; beautiful layout and excellent clubhouse services. DLF Golf & Country Club is a high-end course and can be difficult for an average golfer. Golden Green is also one of the good courses to play on…. Our overall impressions are very positive,” noted Katrin.

Enthusiastic Turnout at AWS Winter Golf Event

Over 200 golfers from across the country showed up for the annual AWS Winter Golf Tournament at the picturesque 18-hole Golmuri Golf Course, Jamshedpur on November 24-25, 2018. Team Delhi was represented by Tajender Luthra, Vipin Malik, D.P. Singh, and Ravi Zutshi.

It was also an effort to promote golf skills among Adivasis. Adivasi Welfare Society (AWS), under the aegis of Arjun Munda (former Chief Minister of Jharkhand), trains Adivasis to become caddies or golfers. The tournament helps them interact with many professional and amateur players.

The world’s largest maker of premium performance golf products Callaway hosted the inaugural Callaway Chromesoft Challenge on November 30, 2018. The event saw 84 golfers participate and they were divided into four teams. The four captains were golf professionals Vani Kapoor, Veer Ahlawat, Saqib Ahmad and Digvijay Singh. In the open category, Ankit Mohindra grabbed the top spot and Nikhil Narain finished runner-up.
