33-year-old, Indian Olympian, Anirban Lahiri is all set to tee off at this week’s THE PLAYERS Championship scheduled from March 11-14 at the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Florida.

After missing the cut at last week’s US$ 9.3 mn Arnold Palmer Invitational, Lahiri was not assured of  getting a spot this week. But a withdrawal from World No.12 Brooks Koepka for treating his right knee opened up a spot for the Indian. Lahiri has made only one cut in four previous starts at the Players and we wish him all the best this week.

“Brooks strained his right knee and he is scheduled to further consult with doctors this week to receive a more extensive evaluation and outlook,” said Blake Smith, Koepka’s manager. “We will be able to provide additional updates and information as we learn more.”

The current field now has 48 of the world top 50 players on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). World No.20, Matthew Wolff is also going to miss the event due to unsaid reasons.
