The Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, a Gary Player design in Abu Dhabi, UAE has been nominated for the World’s Best Eco-Friendly Golf Facility at the 2021 World Golf Awards, scheduled later this year.
The club provides sanctuary to over 160 bird species, more than 250 mountain gazelles and hundreds of native plants.
The club’s team has also been supporting the efforts of Saadiyat Island’s Hawksbill Turtle Conservation Program and uses 100% treated effluent irrigation water. The club covers 346 acres, with 296 of those acres irrigated and with recycled irrigation water.
The club has already achieved its Audubon Certification in 2020, an education and certification program that helps organizations and businesses protect the environment while enhancing their bottom line.
