Veer Ahlawat stands 80th on the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit

27-year-old Veer Ahlawat of Gurgaon shot 70-68-79-72 (1-over 289) to finish 80th in the US$ 1mn Shinhan Donghae Open Ocean Course at Club 72 in Incheon, South Korea.

So far this year, Ahlawat has played in 12 events on the Asian Tour and has made seven cuts. His best finish was a tie for ninth in the World City Championship in Singapore in March. He is currently 80th on the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit. That is a far cry from last season, when Ahlawat finished 38th on the OOM with five top-10 finishes.

Ajeetesh Sandhu and Viraj Madappa shot matching 1-under 143 to miss the 36-hole cut by two strokes.

The tour will now head to Chinese Taipei for its US$ 750,000 Yeangder TPC from Sep. 21-24 at Linkou International Golf and Country Club where other Indians will join the fray.
