Amateur Golf
A tournament organised by Kaushal Shah’s IJGT (Indian Junior Golf Tour) called The Amateur Cup at the beautiful Nicklaus designed Kalhaar Blues & Greens, Ahmedabad was the first tournament played after the 2021 lockdown. Although the Amateur section attracted only 12 participants due to prevailing travel restrictions, the junior event saw 25 competitors.
The immaculate course playing 7100 yards from the black tees saw 17-year-old Ishaan Chawhaan a ward of Kalhaar based coach Vijay Divecha, shoot creditable rounds of 76-70-70 (even-par 216), to win comfortably despite gusts of wind and rain at regular intervals, which made for challenging conditions. Junior results in various age groups are listed below.
