Given the continued popularity and success of Golf Leagues around the country, the inaugural Qutab Golf League (QGL) is now set to tee off at the Qutab Golf Course, India’s first public golf facility, on January 4, 2025 promising a unique blend of competition and community. The league will feature three days of play—January 4, February 1, and March 1—complemented by two masterclasses and social evenings.
Format and Participation
The league features 8-10 teams comprising 16 players each. Team rosters will include 12 owner-selected players and 4 auctioned participants, creating a diverse mix of competitors. Teams must include:
- 2 Ladies
- 1 Junior (under 18)
- 1 Senior (over 65)
- 1 Government Official
- 1 Armed Forces Personnel
A total of 160 players will compete, with matches played under the Stableford scoring system at 75% of original handicaps. Team scores will be determined by the nine best individual scores from each team in the first two rounds, and all 12 scores on the final day. The team with the highest cumulative score will claim the championship title.
Prizes and Stakeholders
The league offers ₹20 lakh in prize money, with ₹12 lakh awarded to the winning team. Individual accolades will be presented for daily and overall performances. Well-known team owners such as Aryan Khan (son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan) highlight the event’s high-profile appeal.
