Diksha Dagar aims for her second Olympics appearance at Paris 2024

Due to her finishing in the 2023 Ladies European Tour Final Rankings in 3rd place Diksha Dagar gained entry to the lucrative Aramco Series event in Florida this week. There she spoke to the media about her year ahead and emphasized her ambitions to play the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Said Diksha “ I took  to professional golf in 2019 with the sole purpose to represent my country at the Olympics.  It means a lot to be in a position to once again represent India at the Paris Olympics. It is a huge honour.

I am a much improved golfer, having had the experience of playing so much on the Ladies European Tour.  I’m now more confident and consistent. About our chances –  Aditi was close to a Medal last Olympics, She won twice on LET last year, I also won. So now we understand its just a matter of starting well and putting together 4 good rounds. We do have a realistic chance to win a Medal”

Asked about how she spent her off season, Diksha said “I had a hectic 2023 season, so it was mostly resting and a total break from Golf. I do need to work on my game as we go along, especially on fitness and distance.

Asked about her goals for the season she said “ This is going to be a bit different season for me.” The focus will be on the Olympics. I will play a few events on the Epson tour in USA and see how it goes. My main focus will remain on improving my overall game.”

The left-handed girl from New Delhi touched new heights in 2023 and we look forward to seeing her and Aditi Ashok star for India in Paris this August.
