Hero Open at St. Andrews sees low scoring

Pro Golf – European Tour

After the cancellation of the Hero Indian Open in 2020 and again in 2021 due to the Pandemic, the European Tour and Hero Motocorp staged the US$1.5 million Hero Open at The Fairmont St Andrews, a stone’s throw from the famous Old Course. Low scoring was the order of the day as local Scottish lad emerged winner by one stroke with a total of 23 under par after making birdies on the final two holes. As many as 17 Scottish players featured in the starting line up with 3 Scots in the top 5 going into the final round.

Due to the Pandemic and to localise travel, the European Tour featured 6 events all in the UK in 2020 and this year the Hero Open comes in the middle of a 3 event swing across Wales , Ireland and Scotland.
