Indian Parita wins at BMW World Final

India’s Parita Vinod Kothari accumulated 93 points to win the Ladies category at the BMW Golf Cup World Final in Dubai. Kothari, playing off a handicap of 17, posted scores of 31, 32, and 30 points over three rounds to edge Irina Orlova of Moldova by a single point among the 24 ladies competing.

Arpita Jagadish Mashruwala  and Karan Singhvi represented India in the Men’’s 1 & 2 categories respectively and together with Parita made up the Indian team which finished in 8th place overall at the event held over 3 rounds at the famous Jumeirah Golf Estates where the European Tour’s finale – the DP World Championship is held annually. 

Team Russia claimed victory followed by South Korea, Moldova and Germany.

Amateurs from 15 countries took part in the final, with 30 competing in the Men 1 category, 18 in the Men 2 category and 24 in the Ladies category. 

All the winners were presented with their trophies by guest of honour, 8 time European Tour Order of Merit winner,  Colin Montgomerie at the Gala Dinner. The Scottish golfing legend had previously delighted the world finalists with a golf clinic on the iconic 17th hole of the Earth Course.

The BMW Golf Cup 2021 was held across 11 cities in India between July and September 2021. Over 750 amateurs participated in the indoor simulator Tournaments.  There were three categories for each event: A for handicaps up to 12, B for handicaps 13-28 and Ladies Category for handicaps up to 28. The winners, runners-up and second runners-up of the 3 categories qualified for the National Final, which was held in November  at Classic Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon.

The winners in each of the three categories in the National Final qualified to take part in the World Final.
