The Junior Asian Golf Academy (JAGA) started at ITC Classic Golf Resort in June this year

The Junior Asian Golf Academy (JAGA) inaugurated its first Indian campus at the prestigious ITC Classic Golf and Country Resort in Gurgaon, earlier this year in June, marking a significant milestone in nurturing young golf talent. The academy integrates world-class golf training with rigorous academics, offering student-athletes a platform to excel in both disciplines.

Located on the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course in South Asia, the ITC Classic Golf Resort boasts an 18-hole championship course and another 9-hole course, previously hosting renowned tournaments like the Asian Tour’s US$400,000 Panasonic Open. This exceptional setting serves as a hub for developing skills through advanced facilities, including a GC-Quad equipped studio, driving ranges, short game practice areas, and customised training regimens.

JAGA’s program includes up to 10 hours of weekly coaching, rounds on professional courses, and tailored golf-specific conditioning. Nutrition and performance enhancement form key components, underscoring a focus on holistic athlete development.

Directed by Shane Gillespie, JAGA operates campuses across Asia and North America, and in India its coaching staff includes Arjun Malik (India) and Marc-Andre Menard (UAE). The India campus builds on this global expertise, ensuring students have access to premier instruction and state-of-the-art resources.

With a blend of academic rigor and elite golf training, JAGA’s Gurgaon campus exemplifies its mission to build future talent in Indian golf while maintaining a strong educational foundation.

Till now the only other full-time golf academy offering both education and golf training was the Tarun Sardesai academy at Zion Hills GC, outside Bangalore.

With NCR being the hotbed of the maximum number of junior golfers, a suitable full-time academy program is the need of the hour.
